White Female Emcee needed

recipe

I'm a good student of Hiphop and throughout its highs and lows. Throughout many a roundtable discussion, never once has there ever been a documented case of...what if there was a dope wht, female emcee? Now I know in some circles there are (believe there’s a young lady by the name of Invincible out of Detroit)...but I mean on a global scale. She'd have to possess a deep seeded love for it w/o pandering to it. Keep all the "score-card" antics and she'll quietly just exude this. She'd speak "her" life in a way that’s universal to all, yet it's done in a palatable swagger that we “headz” can appreciate. Lyrically yet not so much content wise, she’ll have stemmed from the Lauren Hill / Jay-Z / Nas school of thought. You’d hear interviews of her “unreleased” material with the likes of Jean Grae or Rah Digga. For all the internet eggheads with your polls…This chick will be amongst them the way Lauryn should be amongst the legends now. It’s just an interesting thought since this is no longer a male, black / latino sport anymore…if not now, it’ll happen one day so lets prepare and embrace it.

This is an interesting thought. Wasn't there that one chick Icy Blu or something like that? I'd love to see a white female emcee that went deeper than just a gimmick - her whole persona would have to avoid the fact that she's white. For instance, her name can't have the words "ice", "vanilla", or "milky" in it. Beyond that, it would be tough - black folks are generally pretty skeptical of white people trying to rhyme. Shit, I'm sure lots of us wanted to hate Eminem when he first came on the scene, but the fact is the kid's nice (okay, his last album wasn't stellar, but it seems like he's bored - he realizes that he can spew any crap, and 16-year old white kids will lap that shit up). Anyway, back to the subject - once she got over that hump, I think she'd have to work pretty hard to maintain any credibility, etc... maybe it's like when black people get corporate jobs - someone's always waiting for you to fuck it up somehow, and fulfill all the stereotypes. Aw, man...all of a sudden, I feel a little twinge of compassion for Vanilla Ice and all the other white emcees that tried and didn't make it.

Addendum: maybe this is her! She could be the white girl we're looking for!
